Flexibility is a given in the CUE environment. CUE is designed as a system of decoupled, interconnected content services that make it easy to add custom functionality and to integrate external services and legacy in-house systems directly into your workflows. This means content producers work in one interface instead of bouncing from program to program to get their work done.
CUE is designed for extensibility and allows integration of 3rd party services. Two main mechanisms are offered: Web Components to add custom panels and fields editors, and enrichment services to extend functionality and automate functions that make content production easier and amazingly more effective.
CUE's enrichment services provide the means for you to integrate with external systems. Enrichment Services are simple HTTP services that follow a particular flow and have the ability to display dialog screens to interact with the user.
When you publish a story in CUE, for example, you might also want to distribute it to a Slack channel, push it to a website or send it to a legacy print system. These actions can be set as automated features in CUE saving you a lot of time.
Customize your CUE interface to fit your work routines using Web Components and avoid switching from program to program. Web Components can be used to incorporate specific field editors or user interface panels.
You can, for example, configure CUE to display a Plot.ly data sheet editor to create interactive charts and data visualizations or add content components for image editing without leaving CUE.
